Greening the environment and improving food security

Like community centers without walls, our Community Gardens offer relaxing, safe, and productive green spaces in dense urban environments, nurturing a healthy and sustainable community. Participants of all ages grow and enjoy organic produce, learn about nutrition, sustainability, culture, and the environment.

Community Gardens help further Greyston’s mission of fostering thriving communities by bringing neighbors together and improving health and well being. Annually, participants produce more than 7 tons of fresh produce.

We engage 4,000 individuals annually in our community programs. We produce 7 tons of fresh produce over 400 garden plots.

“Lucy has mentored me since I was young. I’m proud to bring my daughter to the gardens and to be able to talk about the work I’m now doing to make the city a better place.”
